Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What's crystal boba?

A: Our signature happy, bouncy, chewy crystal boba is made from a vegetable plant called "konjac", regarded as a low-calorie healthy "superfood", and popularly used in food across East and Southeast Asia. If you are not familiar with crystal boba, you're probably familiar with tapioca boba, which is made from cassava root starch. Compared to fresh tapioca boba, our crystal boba has a similar bouncy, chewy, texture without the high starchy calories.

Q: Are your boba drinks suitable for vegans?
A: Yes, our boba beverages are vegan-friendly. In addition to our crystal boba being made from a vegetable plant, our drinks are completely dairy-free and designed to flexibly suit the preferences of our diverse customers. Once you've tried our tea and juice drinks by themselves, we recommend trying them again with some milk (including plant-based milk substitutes) to experience an additional way of enjoying them.

Q: Does your boba drinks contain gluten?
A: No, our boba drinks are gluten-free and thus suitable for anyone with gluten allergies or sensitivities.

Q: My drinks were delivered, but they were left outside. Are they still safe to consume?
A: Yes, our boba drinks and the packaging they arrive in are designed to withstand typical shipping conditions. Please check your order's tracking number to anticipate when they will be delivered to your door, collect your package as soon as possible, and refrigerate your drinks until you're ready to consume them. If you have any concerns about the condition of your drinks, please reach out to our customer support team at help@fsdrinks.com.

Q: What do I do if my order arrives damaged?
A: Please immediately send us a photo/video of your package and its contents to our customer support team at help@fsdrinks.com. Unfortunately, package handling by shipping carriers and their personnel can vary, so the external packaging of your order may not arrive in a condition we prefer.

Q: Is it okay that the ice packs have melted?
A: Yes, if your order was shipped with ice packs, understand that they may be partially to fully melted upon delivery. The ice packs were included to help control temperatures during transit. If you're in a humid place, some condensation wetness may also be present in your package. This is normal. The ice packs are reusable, so feel free to refreeze them for your purposes.

Q: How long do the boba drinks stay fresh?
A: We use a innovative patent-pending process to produce bottled boba drinks that have been lab-certified for 180 days of refrigerated shelf life. Each bottle is printed with a best-by expiration date near the neck of the bottle. Once opened, it's advisable to finish the drink within a day or two.

Q: Can I store the boba drinks at room temperature?
A: Please keep your drinks refrigerated between 35-40°F for freshness and taste. Any extended storage outside of refrigerated temperatures will compromise and reduce the shelf life of your bottled boba drinks. If you cannot refrigerate, storing in a cool, dry place will be preferable to a warm, humid place, but please understand we can no longer guarantee the product up to its best-by expiration date.

Q: What should I do if I suspect my drinks have gone bad?
A: Please do not consume, set the drink aside in your fridge, and contact our customer support team immediately at help@fsdrinks.com with photos/videos of the bottle in question, the best-by expiration date, and a brief explanation of what you experienced. We will issue replacements or refunds appropriately.

Q: How do I tell if my drinks have gone bad?
A: Please check if the cap seal on the bottle has been broken, and look for other signs of possible spoilage caused by improper handling or storage of the drink. Spoilage typically results from environmental contaminants introduced into the contents of the bottle, leading to unsafe microbial growth, fermentation, and the presence of mold.

Any unsafe mold growth is usually visible from outside the bottle, found floating on top of the drink. Mold will typically be distinctly white to shades of green.

Signs of fermentation—that isn't the acceptable kombucha kind—include upward bulging of a sealed cap, a hissing sound when uncapping the bottle, and fizzing of the drink contents.

Spoilage will have a distinct smell and taste. Please do not continue to consume the product, set it aside in your fridge, and contact our customer support team at help@fsdrinks.com with photos/videos of the spoiled product. If the product is within its best-by expiration date, we will issue replacements or refunds appropriately.

Q: My boba isn't happy, bouncy, and chewy. What do I do?
A: If you encounter crystal boba in a drink that seems "mushier" or otherwise significantly different in texture from the crystal boba in our other drinks, please contact our customer support team at help@fsdrinks.com immediately. All crystal boba in all drinks should have a consistent texture, with minor variations only influenced by the tea or juice they are mixed in. They should be relatively firm to the touch and able to be squeezed between your fingers without immediately breaking apart.

Q: Can I return my boba drinks if I'm not satisfied with my purchase?
A: Unfortunately, as consumable beverage products, we do not accept returns. Ensuring the safety and quality of our beverages is our top priority, and we do not resell items that have left our facility. If you encounter an issue with your order, please contact our customer support team at help@fsdrinks.com, and we'll work to address your concerns and find an appropriate resolution.
