About Us
In the summer of 2001, on a particularly warm day in Irvine, CA, my friend introduced me to "boba."
Seeing the black balls hidden by a light brown drink in a white styrofoam cup, I was skeptical and chickened out and told her I would try it some other time (never). Some other time came a week later when I found myself at the same boba shop by myself after a haircut. I bravely ordered a boba, to which the shop owner asked what kind of tea. Flustered, I said the basic one, trying to keep my cool and hide my flushed face. The owner was sympathetic and kindly explained the different tea options. I walked out with a cup of tea (now I know that it was a black milk tea) with boba. I took a swig and almost choked. After coughing for minutes and disturbing the peace, I attempted to save some face and took another sip slowly. I thoughtfully chewed the balls and thought “Wow how weird. Why would anyone get this regularly?” Since then I’ve been drinking a boba almost every day, know all the different types, and have all of my work meetings and social events around my favorite drink (meal) in the world!
When offered the opportunity to bring FSTea to the US market, I was thrilled because I always wanted to be able to have my favorite drink anytime without having to drive to a tea shop and wait in line. I've realized that crystal boba is a healthier alternative to tapioca pearls, and am excited to be launching our product with crystal boba! I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do, as this is dedicated to both boba die-hard fans and people who are just now discovering their love for boba.
